Working less and earning more

It's rare that I read a business book and know that I can, without doubt, implement everything that its author advocates. But, this book, Get Out While You Can - Escape The Rat Race, is an exception. George Marshall has a strategy which is based on making sure that you can keep on selling the time you spend working. This is opposed to the job world most of us live in where we sell our time to an employer once and then have no chance of selling that time again.

George Marshall shows you how to earn more and work less. It's not a 'get rich scheme', but a way to be more diverse in the way in which you generate income.

My first step into following George's advice was put together in matter of hours using free software, my netbook and less than £20 after having an idea for an online business when I was at my dentist's surgery last week. It's small and basic, but it is a start to generating another income stream. It's called 'How to Floss' and it is surprising how many people want to know how to do this on Google.

  1. As Confucius said, find a job that you like and you'll never work a single day in your life. Sometimes, you just have to take the risk and find the opportunity to do something you are truly enjoying. I just file LLC last week and I'm already excited about it.

  2. Hi Mitch,

Indeed. That's very true. There are rare moments when you feel as though you are in that 'zone', and it's worth trying lots of things until you find what you love doing.

    Thanks for your comment.
